Canon Powershot G11

After I took pictures of snail, I couldn't get Canon Powershot G11 off my mind. How long it has been since I bought compact camera last time? Was I good this year? Do I deserve it? It didn't take long time for me to decide. My new camera arrived today.

Snail, snail, snail

I was asked to make website for the snail lab in UH. They didn't have much pictures of snails so I went to take some. I don't have macro lens so I borrowed Canon power shot G11 from the lab.
The camera was amazing! It has all the function that SLR has. 10 mega pixel, ISO is up to 3200, f/2.8 (W) - f/4.5 , Av, Tv, even manual settings. Hey, it's better than my camera!

Student was doing DNA.

These are endangered Hawaiian tree snail. They are all different species.

Honolulu City Lights Parade

Shooting parade at night was much harder than I thought. Almost nothing come out good but parade was fun and lights were so beautiful. I am going to go back and take more X'mas pictures.

Kailua

I had to take my doggy to the vet in Kailua yesterday. It's been a while for me to visit there, so I brought my camera.

My dog "Maile". I call her "Maimai". She is almost 7 month old.

Animal clinic was near the Kawainui swamp. There were many interesting birds and dragon flies. I definitely come back with my long lens.

Family photo

I had problems with my photos. Most of them came out blurry. I thought my camera isn't good enough and thought about getting a new body. One day, Erick told me maybe I am not holding my camera steady. He showed me how to hold his camera. I tried same way he does and he was right! This day, I only focused on holding my camera steady. I still got some blurry but I am so happy that most of them came out sharper than ever!

Thanks giving

I went to my friend Yumiko's Thanks giving party at Ewa. There were about 50 people and more than 50 dishes & sweets (I couldn't count because people and foods were keep coming).

Because the party was mixed of Japanese and American, foods were also mixed.
This is "nishime"

I didn't get to taste this. I was too full. This is squid and green onion with miso dressing. Japanese comfy food.

I didn't know what it was. It was yummy.

One kid caught snail.

Kids were playing at swimming pool.

I like this picture a lot.
